David Bowie, and now Alan Rickman RIP

Sad news this morning that David Bowie succumbed to cancer yesterday He really was one of music's legends and as I type this I have Let's Dance turned up loud courtesy of radio X.

Bizarrely I watched Labyrinth last night on a complete whim. I went looking for something that was music-based to have on in the background whilst I did some work prep and that was the first dvd I saw. Still as good now as the first time I saw it many years ago. I may watch Absolute Beginners tonight which got completely panned by the critics but I love for it's energy and music.

Anyway, much missed and a sad loss to the music world but his legacy will live on in his music and in the music of all the bands who he's influenced.

Labyrinth was a childhood favourite of mines... Jennifer Connelly younger was hot as hell, now she is older... just as hot!

He had a few great songs as well, he will be missed!

i can't believe how many songs of his I'd forgotten about. I thought I had a fair collection of Bowie tracks on my playlists including quite a few lesser known ones but it turns out I'm an amateur. I think most radio stations played lots of Bowie throughout the day reminding us of his back catalogue. This track is one I can't believe I don't own - possibly a little cheesy for some but I love it

For me it kinda got overshadowed by Elton John's "I'm still standing"

I did know of it but preferred Let's Dance and China Girl from that era so it got forgotten about

I will hold the door open for you 25 years of age and ashamed to say it, but Elton John is also brilliant. Not a great singer but his song writing is as good as any.
