Hi we’ve had our panda about a week now and starting to feel it’s quirks.

Just wondering if a vibration at 50mph on 4th is anything to worry about, it’s still present if the clutch is dipped. I’ve had the wheel balances checked but it’s not gone anyway?

We’ve got a bit of warranty left of it, so not too concerned - would like to know what’s best to do tho if anyone could advise.

Thanks

Is it through the steering or the whole car as a prop shaft fault could cause it. If the system allows it and prop was removed to rear drive you could road test it. Also the prop could be properly inspected as hard to see any fault when fitted.
As a rough guide if rear passengers can notice it and sometimes feel car sick that is an indication.
You have had the front wheels balanced, badly balanced rears or duff tyres/rims can also do the same.
If from a reputable garage, I would register the fault in writing with them, so that if warranty ends they would still be obliged to correct the fault.

I agree that it could be prop shaft. Balance the rear wheels as this does affect severely and under 40K miles is probably more likely. Does it drive through the vibration and smooth out at 60 / 70 mph? If yes then I would sway more to wheel balance. I have not experienced prop shaft issues but If you search for this on here there is plenty to read to indicate if your symptoms match. Check the wheels fixed on tight, are still good no bends or kinks too. If they are and balance is good get back to the seller / warranty quick! You didnt tell us the mileage. Certainly its not right. Be warned though that all wheel balancers are not equal. I have had on occasion to make 8 visits to get it done right!

100% about wheel balancers, generally as with much in life, it is as good as the person doing the job. In the 1970s at a Mazda dealership we used to send our tyre requirements to the local ATS with it's fancy wheel balancer, after several customer complaints, we tried checking and re balancing in house using a old hand propelled balancer bolted to an oil drum, sounds crazy, but we had reports that in access of 100mph Mazda RX3s and 4s with all vibration gone and customer satisfaction!:)

Thanks, sorry for no reply, for some reason I didn’t get email notification for reply’s. So I only just checked.

Yes can power through - it’s Litterally about 10mph worth and depressing clutch doesn’t help, so I’m guessing balancing too , it’s felt through steering - I’ll go ask the tyre place again - but odd the wobble speed hasn’t changed at all.

That sounds like wheels to me. Rear wheels dont shake the steering like front ones but the vibration seems more profound.. I hope you get it sorted without a pile of costs.
