- Position the vehicle on the lift.

Procedure for draining the circuit

- With the engine cold, undo the engine coolant supply reservoir cap.

Do not remove the expansion tank cap when the engine is hot as there is a danger of scalding.

1. Connect a suitable pipe to the exhaust connector.

2. Loosen the band and disconnect the coolant outlet pipe from the radiator.

Collect the coolant in a suitable container.

1. Open the bleed valve at the back of the radiator on the right hand side.

Procedure for refilling the circuit

- Close the engine coolant drainage tap.

- Introduce the recommended engine coolant very slowly via the filler on the tank until it comes out of the bleed screw.

- Close the bleed valve as soon as the fluid comes out.

- Continue filling up until the MAX level on the tank is reached.

- Tighten the cap fully on the tank filler.

- Start the engine and let it idle for about 2 minutes.

- Remove the air from the circuit by carrying out periodic, gradual acceleration (every 30 seconds) until a speed of about 3000 rpm is reached. This operation should be carried out until the thermostat opens and the fan switches on and off at least three times.

- During this operation, keep the climate control system switched off to prevent the fan coming on not due to the heating of the coolant. If there is a noticeable drop in the level in the tank at this point, restore the idle speed and open the cap very carefully and top up the fluid to the MAX level; then close the cap fully and complete the removal of the air.

- Stop the engine and, after having let it cool down, check that the fluid level is by the MAX level on the tank.

- At the end of the above operations, make sure that the amount of fluid introduced into the system is at least equal to the amount collected during the draining stage.

- Remove the car from the lift.
