Hi folks.

I just bought a used 500e La Prima (2021 model). I was told it should be possible to completely remove the back seat including the central hinge. I don't need a four seats, I would like to have more room for my dog, and maybe install a fence.

Has anyone done this ? Any pictures ? I searched a lot over the internet and couldn't find anything. I found videos to show how to remove seats, but unclear, and not showing end result.

Hello,

That is how the rear seat frame of the combustion engine 2012+ 500 looks like:

So yes, it should be quite easy to remove it. The version without the divided seat is even less complicated, as it does not have the middle hinge that goes up. I can't be sure if the 500e has the same seat or floor panel, but usually manufacturers tend not to modify the body, as it is the most expensive part.

That's how the floor looks like in the same model:

It's not completely flat, but it would be easier to make it flat than with the seats installed.

I have not heard nor seen a van version of the 500, but such cars are very popular in France (probably due to fiscal reason: I've seen a C3 and a Clio with 2 seats), so perhaps it's worth checking there for some kind of fence. If not, it should be quite easy to get it done and installed in the front fixing points of the seat frame and upper seatbelts points.
