Morning all,

I took my front calliper off to remove a seized slider, and i hadn't considered that due to the resevoir being higher that all the fluid would come out (used to motorbikes).

Now all replumbed up, does anyone have any tips for filling the system back up as i'm sure the MC was dry.

Will the normal push pedal/open bleed bleeding procedure fix this, or is there something to do to the MC first?, is it worth trying to reverse bleed the system?

thanks all

you can just open the bleed screw and let it dip out that will work some times or open the screw get someone to push the pedel down close the screw and let it back and so on a few times

Fill it and let it drip.
When you're happy it is full, pump out the caliper a little, wait few minutes, then squeeze them back in to push the air up the tube to the MC.
Hopefully this will sort it, but some air may have got into the other circuits, so a bleed of them all might be a good idea.

If pumping the master cylinder careful not to go past the normal travel the wear in the bore can damage the seals. I use an old power steering cap and a tyre valve like this and a weed sprayer as a pressure source but a bicycle pump would probably do if you have a helper.

thanks for the replies. tried again with gravity and pumping brakes with a 1 man bleeder. couldn't get the air out so ended up taking it to the garage to do as needed van asap.

Next time i'll be getting a pressure bleeded.

Could someone confirm to me for the future, to push brake pedal all the way down to prevent the brake fluid all leaking out?

thanks
