Engine light appeared yesterday, accompanied by “engine failure” indication.
I’m getting fault 0303 which indicates a problem on cylinder 3 (firing order).
This is actually he second cylinder and on checking, the plug is “black” compared to the other 3. 2 years ago I replaced a coil, the new one being a Lucas one. Coincidentally, that is also on the faulty cylinder, and it has a very strong electrical burning smell, more so than the others. I’ve been trying to test the coils with a multimeter, but am not getting readings that would positively define the faulty component. I’m not keen on driving it as it ended up with a definite misfire. Any clue re testing these coils much appreciated.
