Off Topic Clutch change discovery

Changing the clutch today discovered this on my gear box bearing in mind I've had this car from 3 year old and 40k miles it seems it was very young when it was done so I suspect a warrantee job

Yeah it will be. Exactly the same plaque was on my second mk2b Sporting box which failed 30k later.

hmmmm so fiat do do Reconditioned gearboxes....

mines noisey again, but sod it - im gonna keep going till its time

My guess -- too much weight to drag around and assembled in Italy. Cento boxes (essentially the same) seem to last much better even in Turboed cars.

Please bear in mind this gearbox has done 60k+ miles with me and is not your usual 1.2 8v the gear box on these seems very different to your usual punto box or 1.9 diesel box, definitely has a much more substantial input bearing to a normal punto box
