General choke problems

hi

i've got a 1990 panda 1000s and this morning the choke has packed up.

it was out a bit and wouldnt go in so i pulled it right out and now it still wont go in!

any ideas, the car wont start with it out!

Hi there,

Has the plastic lever broken off the choke cable? If so you can pull the cable (and push it) to control the choke.

Other wise it has come loose at the other end - where it attaches to the carb. It's a thick cable and is unlikely to have broken.

If you take the air filter off and nose about you should see where the choke attaches (or is supposed too!)

Hopefully you should be able to reattach it, I am not too sure how it connects but I think it is held on by a nut, so hopefully you can find a suitable nut and bolt it back on....

In the mean time keep yur foot on the gas for a few minutes after starting the car - if you keep the revs up for a few mins it shuld heat up enough for it to run.
