out of boredom ive done my badges in carbon fibre effect,

Took about 3 hours in total, most of the time was spent getting rid of the blue dotty part of the badge.
This left the plastic dull and foggy, so had to cut and buff it back to a nice shine...

Some small bits of blue left around the letters, didnt want to go too close and remover the silver, not too noticable

Hi that look smart mate gd job :)

how did you do it with carbon fibre film im quite curious how you did the rear "fiat" badge :D

gd mod though!

1 - Take badges off
2 - cut vinyl oversized for each 1, trying to keep direction of effect all the same
3 - colour in the raised letter using non-permenant marker
4 - quickly roll the letter on the backing paper of the vinyl
(this will transfer a rough copy of the letter)
5 - carefully cut around the marker, leave a bit of room to allow it to fit over without having to bend it
6 - give it a dry test to see if it fits ok, if not trim down where its fouling
7 - rough down the badge, prime and spray black
8 - when it dries apply the vinyl
9 - cut down the excess, leaving it a bit short so its not at the edges, and rub into place with soft rag
10 - touch up letters with silver paint using small brush

the vinyl I got isnt very good at stretching using heat, the glue goes off as soon as i starts heating
the letters on mine where quiet worn, which is why i recoated them in silver paint
after you have cut the excess, there might be a few bits of blue coming thru, jus touch these up with a bit of black.

Just takes a bit of time to get them done, but once you get started its not too bad

Thanks for that mate,

sounds quite simply to do take my time plus something to do on a weekend(y)

i may do something different but just something to revamp the badges :slayer:

definately great job though mate :D

theres lots you can do, ive jus found a similiar guide on the grande punto forum, he's done his badges using paint, turned out pretty good too...
