its me again ! now got another problem !.yesterday i put new spark plugs,leads and air filter and dizzy cap .now the damn car wont run properly justs coughs and splutters ,as it was running fine before i did that work to it. so i put the old plugs back in as the werent to bad just a nice tan colour and the old dizzy cap back on but as the old leads were bust leftthe new one on . the car still sputtered etc .all the parts were correct for the car (903 dance 92 reg)i am at a loss to guess at the problem !!!!!!!!car now unuseable as it has no power to get it going just chuggs along !
 
I know it's possible on some cars but dunno bout the panda, but you can put the dizzy cap on 180 degrees out.

If the distributor is anything like the (Panda) ones I'm used to - with difficulty:
there is a sort of keyed arrangement (looks a bit like a shallow rectangular recess on the face of the distributor the cap fits on.
There is a corresponding block in the face of the cap.

That's not to say you couldn't if you were really trying.


There is another possibility, if you've "adjusted" the points...

I have known a novice set the gap on the points without the heel of the points being at the top of the cam lobe[:0]
I found that is what had been done to a Datsun 120Y 20 odd years ago by my then neighbour.
Amazing that it ran at all, really.
