General Can you remap only for the "Sport" mode?

Hiya,

I purchased a brand new Fiat Bravo T-Jet 150 Sport in November, and just last week have had it remapped.

After the remap I have noticed that with the sport button off... it seems to respond about the same, although they have managed to reduce the flat spot I used to have in 1st gear and 3rd gear.

With the sport button on however... it is now totally noticeable that I am getting an extra 35+bhp, acceleration from 1st,2nd and 3rd is markbly improved... and I seem to have more power availble in 4th and 5th at higher speeds also.

So basically it sounds like they have done exactly what you wanted!

Had mine done over christmas by Angel tuning as they were doing a 20% discount offer. One of there guys came down to a local garage near me and did the remap, took him a couple of hours. Only problem with getting him to travel down to my local garage though was that they did not have a RR setup... so could not get an accurate before/after reading etc.

But that means you loose warranty dont you? Im In Australia.. and we have very stict rules.

Yeh we have 3 year here, im waitin for that to be up before i look into re-mapping.

Even then i have no idea where Id take it for that.

I've started to see a few places advertise for remapping Fiats - can't remember where - might want to browse through some auto mags as there are loads of ads there.

Spoke to Oldskool today re mapping. Reddot have done mine and I took it up for checks after works were carried out with mine. Basically they upped the torque although no further work was needed so they didn't rolling road it.
Following conversation with Oldskool I have to PM him later with a view to getting more torque from mine (1.9mjet 150) to put it into large capacity diesel torque territory and we shall see what can be done.

35bhp is a pretty hefty claim - has this been confirmed on a RR? Or does it just feel like an extra 35bhp? I'm interested in seeing how far you can take the 1.4 Turbo...apparently Fiat reckon 180bhp is safe with it...but no idea what else would need done to get it up to that...The sport button doesn't give you extra bhp, just modifies the torque band - engine is punting out 150bhp constant but when Sport if pressed the torque changes...you might not get anything from reprogramming the Sport button for extra horses...

right then, first off the 150abarth turbo wont RR at 150bhp, it will be slightly above.

secondly theres a guy on here called julian whos running over 180bhp off the 150/abarth turbo with the set up of turbo back exhaust with sports cat, GSR induction and Red Dot Re-map. and its safe.

thirdly, i have the t-jet 120 GP and i have made 161bhp/199lbs/ft from center back exhaust system, GSR induction kit and Re-Map.

Sounds good...but that doesn't explain if you have had to do all that to get that extra power or if remapping to hit the Sport button does the job? I'm not convinced the Sport button on it's own will do anything to get you extra bhp...the added kit - back exhaust, GSR kit (what is that, btw? I'm new to all this so would like to find out more) and the remap are the things that add the extra bhp - as far as I know.

The 180bhp was from a mate who is right into cars and spent a long time researching Fiats before buying the 150 Sport for his wife (or him to play with at the weekend) - I'll ask him for more info so his claim can be validated.

You mention 150/Abarth turbo - is that what is in the Bravo Sport 150 or is that an add-on/upgrade? I've got the Sport 150 but don't know any real details on what it actually has...

I'm not trying to be @rsey, just wanting to find out more so have questions that have to be asked and theories/understandings that need confirmed.

the abarth/150 turbo is a different turbo to the 120 t-jets. the 120 boys allw ant to upgrade to the 150 turbo in the GP's as you can only get it in abarth form.

GSR is probably the best place for tuning parts for modern fiat engines at the moment, they work very closley with Red Dot Racing who are ace.

is the Sport 150 you have the t-jet or multijet?

I've got the 150 Tjet...and thanks for the info on GSR and stuff - I thought GSR was short for some part of the car but couldn't work it out - like I said, I'm needing to learn a lot of stuff regarding this...

Also asked my mate where he got his 180bhp info from - he's been pulling my chain slightly - from an article in Autocar First Rides - http://www.autocar.co.uk/CarReviews/FirstDrives/Fiat-Grande-Punto-1.4T-Abarth-Essesse/228305/ - it mentions the 180bhp but doesn't say it is the limit...
