does any one know if i can power as ps3 fan via an external power supply? the reason i need an external power supply is because the orginial one has broken away from the PCB and if you have ever seen inside a ps3 you will know its bloody impossible to solder back onto

i would like to get it sorted, not for gaming, just the hd dvd player

Thanks in advance!

i looked at pulling power from somewhere eles, however not knowing my round them i decided to go the external route, i have it up and running now, its running off a 12v transformer, cabels spliced and soldered. only down side is that the fan will always be on, (not that it will be left on while not in use)

Did a 2.5 hour test run earlier and i must say it was no problems, kept nice and cool all the time :slayer:

nice cheap PS3 for me

could try splicing a wire from another source
i would think that a molex connect if used could be harvested it has the voltages

dont think it would effect other stuff
