I am almost certain now that my punto problems are down to a leaky heater matrix (strong smell of fumes from the heater when swithced to HOT and steamy windscreen).
Somebody in another thread said that they had fixed a similar problem using a product similar to RADWELD called BARRS LEAKS. Has anybody else fixed this in the same way with success?

In sweden they sell something called Flytande Kork, which would be something like "Floating cork". Its supposed to be alot better than radwell accordning to the garage I talked to. It was quite pricy, 40£ a bottle, which could be used for maybe 4-5 puntos.

ive just used Forte Radiator Stop Leak which is ok to use on heater matrix, it cost me £10............so far it seems to have done the trick but obviously time will tell. I have heard that radweld isnt really the best thing to use. From what i read bars leaks seems to be popular tho.

my heater matrix was leaking and as i said in an earlier thread used Forte radiator stop leak, well instead of having water pouring out the vents, my windows mist up when on hot.........obvously it hasnt fully sealed the marix, what i want to know is would there be a problem with putting another radiator/matrix sealer in, ie bars leaks (as that seems to be what everyone recomends) and what would the chance of it sealing the leak ?

listen to the man!!!

you put stuff in it, it may explode and give you some nasty burns (do a search, a woman got a new matrix fitted, and it exploded and caused permant burns to her lower legs and feet, followed by a crash!).

the whole way heaters work is dodgy with stupid valves and cheap pipework that should ahve never been fitted in the first place, dont' make them any dodgier

Radweld isn't worth a ****, you don't want that stuff running through your water jackets etc.

Radweld and similar mixtures are as bad today as they were 40 years ago, they form a gunge which blocks holes. Ok if you are getting rid of the car, but not so cheap to get round the eventual blocked radiator, blocked heater. Get the job done properly and replace the heater rad.

ok guys cheers will do iv got one jus not had time to replace it it is v expensive to get it done grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

HI guys ive been hit with this craze aswell haha not a good craze tho but how do i go about gettin it out to replace? is it dash out job?
