Technical Broken door handle + lock

Hello everyone, The passenger door handle on my car isn't opening the door anymore. It won't unlock either. What happened is I was trying to open the door from inside the car and my mum was trying to open it from outside. I heard a snapping sound and now it won't do anything. I think the cable broke.
Can it be fixed at home as I want to spend as little as possible

It's not cable operated -it's a metal rod.
Hopefully you've just done something reversible like dislodging the rod from where it clips in.... only thing to do is strip it down & see what's going on.
There's a workshop manual on the site which can be handy, you can download it or you can get a copy on disc really cheap off eBay.

Does anyone know how to remove the window winder and the rest of the interior door trim without removing the door?

No.... but i will tomorrow. Need to sort out my passenger lock so if you can wait till then i will even provide photo's.
Door furniture will unscrew, you shouldn't need to remove the window, & the door card is held in by red plastic push in plugs- the art is removing them without snapping the old & tired plastic plugs.

Turned out the metal rod thing in it had come loose from the bit that works it. After taking the interior trim off, I took the door handle off and fiddled with the metal rod thing near the lock, I heard a clicking sound and then it was fixed.
The problem I have now is I can't remember how to put it back together again... ?
