So i was driving today for a short time and the break pad light come on and the car performance decreased, is this for security or is something else going on?

Hi. Doesnt sound right..

Best to get it checked..could be a pad has failed..and is tuck and rubbing.

maybe its time to change the break pads, otherwise the disk can get damaged
