Hello fellow 'Fiat Freaks'
Just replaced the front pads on my 146,000 km Seciento Van out here in Spain.
The job and the replacement pads were, as you are probably all aware(for those that have done this job) a breeze to fit..
However, my previous oads were very well worn with only 2-3 mm left on them and the pistons were obviously well exposed.
Now when I drive the car brakes a lot better(as you'd expect) but unfortunately I have the odd brake squeal when driving straight, at speed, slowly and when going around corners etc.
The new pads came with a 'pad' on the piston side to 'mitigate' brake squeal(I think thats what is for) and I would usually put some copper slip on that to help prevent it but can't find any supplier of that here...
Anyone know if there is another product I can put on there???
The brake disc, although worn with a lip was in good condition but reading through the archives I see that the pad can sometimes catch on this lip...
Anyway, a breeze to change(compared to my old 'Pug' 106....)
The brakes don't 'bind' but the right hand wheel does get a bit warm, maybe that will ease of over time. Unfortunately I ran out of brake cleaner after doing the nearside calliper so maybe thats why the offside is making the noise(I think) and getting warm...
Any suggestions??
