Hi folks,

I currently have a 500, but am considering a Qubo . Yesterday I went to the Research garage to take the measurements of the boot, but despite having a stunning amount of cars, they didn't have a single Qubo.

Would anyone be wiling to take the measurements for me, I am trying to see if I can fit either the Double large, or better still the Double X large.

Thanks

Hi. Welcome. Width between wheel arches is 104cm. depth to the back seats is 50cm worst case. When the back seats are folded forward there is about 120cm of depth more still if you take them out. the back door height is 105cm.
You won't find a car with more space efficiency. It will seem huge inside compared to the shaped 500.

Seems true - I've looked at a lot of other cars but the biggest benefit of the Qubo is the flat floor loading. All others have the deep lip, the narrower-at-the-top aperture or low roof height. Just wish there was a 4x4 version  Seats removability is a bonus too.

I do wonder why Fiat called the stretchy odd-job a 500L. It looks nothing like a 500. In the old days of the real Fiat 500 (upturned jelly-mould), the stretch version of that was called a 600. Much more sensible as you could see and knew from the model what to expect. The 500X is a far nicer beast than the ill-thought-out looks of the 500L. The X has a 4x4 option on it too.

I did have a look (only from the PC) at the new Panda but that rear end looks like a lip-into-boot again and it's small. I have to move a celeste around and sometimes load/unload on me tod. I doubt I could without a flat load floor.

Thank you both for taking the time to measure and reply. I will write the measurements down and digest.

On the comment about the size of my 500..... well I have an unusual one.... I officially converted it to a 2 seater, put a new floor in, added a bulk head, and then have strapped down a dog crate. So it seems quite cavernous. But as I wish to get a 2nd dog, its probably not going to meet my needs now.

I was surprised to see there is only 50cm to play with, I think I need 75cm min. for my crate to fit.. It looks like I'm going to have to look at the Peugot partner after all.. damn and blast.

No problem. The 50cm is from the shoulders of the back seats. It is not a long car. We like the sliding doors and ample space for our child seat.. No breaking our back and hitting heads to use it.
