Good choice, nice engines those twincams! I have the 1.9 version in a Compact at the moment and im impressed with the power and economy.

cheers yeah i'm pretty surprised at the power, but tbh i've only ever driven turbo diesel automatics. mpg obviously isn't as good as the punto but at a guess i'd say i'm getting 35mpg combined.

yesterday i took it round an industrial estate in the wet to see what it was like for grip around roundabouts, wanted to know how much it could take before the back end slides out, takes a hell of a lot more welly than i imagined!

since the pics i've de-badged it, need to get the dried on brake dust off the wheels and there's some overspray on one of the panels where the old bloke tried to 'repair' it, when there was nothing wrong with it in the first place, maybe slightly faded or something. not really sure how to tackle the overspray yet.

Added my Vibe SLR, also gave it a service, oil, oil & air filter and a set of new spark plugs, came to £25 on my trade card, stupidly easy to do, the oil filter is just to the right of the engine and comes off with a 17mm socket! even reset the oil service light on the dash with a small piece of wire.
