Recently I replaced the blaupunkt tape player in my mk2 Punto Sporting with a Blaupunkt Daytona MP53 CD player. Unfortunately since then whenever the engine is on (and the CD player obviously) there has been an electrical interference noise coming from the rear speakers and sub.[:(!]

Looking back thro previous threads I saw that another poster (thefishdude) had exactly the same problem when fitting a Daytona MP53. Pete1nlancs recommended that fitting a suppressor to his car should solve the problem.

Have any other posters had this problem? Please could someone let me know what exactly a suppressor is and how easy is it to fit.

Cheers

hi there

sorry havent checked this forum for a while but you DO NOT need a supressor at all you dont actually need anything extra. i solved my problem on my daytona.

now i did 2 things and it solved it but you only may need to do one.

on the fiat wiring there is an extra block of wires that is made up of 3 smaller blocks green yellow and red i tihnk cant remeber for deffinate. anyway do not conenct them up leave them out of the back of your stereo. this one of the wires in this block is what the computer on the car uses to send a signal to check if yoru offical fiat stereo has the code inputted. as you have changed the stereo leave that block out of it.

try leaving that block out and let me know if that solved it. the other thing i can suggest involves moving some wires. but try the first thing as its easy.

look forwar to your reply
