I would ideally like a Brembo braking system (front and back) with Red Brembo brake callipers..

Me being a novice and all ... do I need to replace anything other than pads ; discs and callipers? Or do I need to look into master cylinders etc..

I see that the current Brembo big brake conversion range is the Granturismo...obviously this is a couple of thousand and is this even compatible with the Barchetta?

I hear Brembo Coupe callipers work... guess the problem is trying to find them or does anyone have any sources?

What may complicate matters is I'm trying to keep the original 15" (or 16" apologies can't remember?! any idea?) spoked alloy wheels...

Also on the Brembo website the parts catalogue for the OEM barchetta discs and brakes mention two sets one for an ATE brake system and one for a Lucas brake system..

Also Goodridge brake cables - NON ABS only whats that about?!

Any ideas how I can tell what I have?!

I would be very grateful for any help!

You can't keep the original wheels if you go for a brembo set up, there isn't enough clearance between the calliper and the inner wheel rim/face.

Only help I can offer is that apparently the non ABS kit will fit a car with ABS (anti-lock brake system) . advice I recieved from Doc a few years ago but I never got around to ordering so can not conferm it but the info came from someone with exceptional knowladge on the B!!.

I've got some Brembos with discs and pads for sale in the classifieds. From a Fiat Coupe 20 valve turbo. They are fully refurbished calipers with new discs and pads.

Probably not supposed to link to the ad but they are in the tuning section if you're interested.

I have upgraded my brake lines ages ago. All works as it should. (y)

One thing to think about when upgrading your brakes. Do I get brake fade when driving my B? If not, well stick with what you have or just spend a bit more on good quality pads. If you do get brake fade now and again, upgrade to vented, drilled & groved discs on the front. Spend a bit more cash on some good quality pads like Ferodo and see if that dials out the brake fade for you.

Speaking from my own experience. I fitted some semi race pads on the front of my Barchetta a few years ago with groved, drilled and venter discs all round. After a week or so I had to take them off. Even spirited road driving couldn't keep them in the optimal working temperature zone. From cold it was like driving with 20% of the braking grip from OEM road pads for the first five mins. (dangerous!)

If your Barchetta is a weekend toy, put on some 16" light alloys with road race rubber, drilled, groved and vented discs with good pads all round. This will up your stopping distances and brake cooling for sure. (As long as its dry LOL)

If its just for looks, go with the big brake kit upgrade. This will stuff the quality of your braking as the brake bios will be all over the place. To fix that you need to upgrade the back brakes, fit a brake bios adjustment system as well as possibly a better master cylinders. All costing a good few ££.
