Yay!! Bella's out of Panda hospital and purring like a kitten , although she is a little wibbly slowing down/going round corners but she has been out of action for a whole month and I only drove her 10 minutes up the road . I need to take the old girl on a long run so she can feel like a young Panda again I basically got the mechanic to remove Bella's insides ,systematically check and clean everything and put it all back in again and I can tell you the engine has never purred before like it is purring now ! So , cost for all the new parts I needed was around £220 and the cost for the mechanic plus having the engine cleaned and antifreeze put in was another £250 which I am cool with, he had Bella for 2 weeks and was so thorough, he kept finding bits missing and not done properly from previous mechanics botched jobs !! Anyway the only thing he was unable to fix was the fan heating system but when I or he manage to get the new part,he will fit it for nothing - can't say fairer than that!! Now all I need is new seats, upholstered panels,carpets, respray.......
Hurrah indeed! glad to hear it and sounds like you've found a decent mechanic too. So hard to find an honest one these days, although i think pandas bring out the best in most mechanics (must be thinking poor sod, can barely afford a car let alone the repair costs ).

Ha ha! You're so right , I must seem a pathetic figure in me wooly hat and scarf , that has made me chuckle Poor bloke looked flabbergasted when he first saw her (and me) standing there ! Photos will be awhile away , haven't exactly budgeted for my panda crusade and to be honest I don't know where to start , there are so many cosmetic things need doing and as she is an unusual colour I don't know whether I will be able to get the paintwork looking new or not . ( besides that , as a former technophobe I don't know how to get photos off my phone and onto the computer, sssh!) Of course any advice my fellow Panda peeps can give me on anything is always welcome and very much appreciated . Cheers for all your messages - Bella wouldn't have got well without y'all
