Been working on a prototype design for a new induction on my Barchetta,

Open to comments on its design if it good or bad before having it fabricated in alloy.

Ive tried to incoporate cool air flow to the rad and also a cool ram effect to the new filter. which is directed through the slot above the bumper.
The lower layer directs air straight onto the rad and also creates a heat shield from heat loss into the bay whereas the second top layer will direct cool air to the engine bay and also into my new CDA filter.

Some more progress with my induction today,
Got myself a small sheet of 3mm aluminum composite (Alucobond) and cut out with a jigsaw the shapes I had prepared with cardboard earlier.

Its easy to cut and can be file'd to the perfect shape.

The bottom layer will atract air directly to the radiator, and also keep the heat from escaping up into the bay, and the top layer will when finished will funnel and ram cool air into my new CDA filter.

There coloured silver but I may experiment with some stickers or tint to make it look better.

What do you think.?

looks really both nice and useful. i will try to make something, it's finally sunny over here. you can wrap it with some fake carbon sticker for now (or sticker bomb). later will be good to create this with real carbon, it will look perfectly.

also you give me idea to create xenon ballast holder, i bough xenon harness kit so i could put them anywhere, no need to be under headlights.

other idea: amp and voltmeter gauge could be on that plate, and switch for light under bonnet (mostly for show, you will not check oil level over night but...)... or pocket for paper when you last change oil, brakes, pulley.

also, since you doing with aluminium... a heat shield

Hey!!!! well done KC3!!! i always love to see you working on the barchetta!! great work there for one more time!!
Any reviews on the new induction system? worst? better? than before with the GSR??? when are you going to the dyno? im curious to see the results with this mod.

keep up the good work!!

Hi Demi,

Havent had a chance to test the induction as my B is presently in bits, well the interior and dash have been completely removed so as to modify the interior.
You can see more on the subject in my project silver thread.
Also the induction is not fully finished as I,m still in need of somehow funneling the air into the filter housing, but once she's back in shape I will certainly test and review the new system, pre and after on the Dyno
I,m sure it should work well or at least show improovement at high rpm.

Will keep you posted. :)
