Yeah so this happened.

I say happened, it has taken a few miles to do for obvious reasons, and I can't believe I've only just noticed, but yeah.

I noticed it was wearing unevenly a while ago, and my car has been pulling to the left quite severely, but I have been waiting for some money to get it sorted out. My mistake.

Front offside tyre.

Took it off:

And also the rear offside tyre:

Now you'll notice that the front tyre is worn on the inside of the wheel, the rear tyre (ContiEco Contact 3) is worn on the outside. Can I assume this is related?

I should mention both tyres on the other side of the car are perfectly okay.

Guess that's what I get for not sorting a problem out straight away like I usually do. 2009 Active at 29k miles.

I was almost going to advise that you see a specialist about your premature balding, but then I saw that it was your tyre and not yourself! :p

More seriously... Are you the original owner? It looks to me that the rear tyre was originally on the front but taken off the wheel and turned around and refitted and then moved to the rear.

You'll need to get your alignment done properly to avoid a repeat.

Nope. I'm only 21 so I would hope not!
And no, owned since September, when I got it the front was fine but I never checked the back.

We thought it looked like that too, but I wasn't sure. Anyway yeah now to get two new tyres and my alignment done and hope that sorts it!

In that case I'd recommend that you put the two new tyres on the back and move the good rear one to the front. That'll even things out a bit.

I run 13s on my Panda and would highly recommend Michelin Energy tyres. They might be a bit more expensive but they wear a lot better than the Continentals and my car feels more grounded with them.

Try STS Tyre pros who can do laser tracking. Check is free adjustment is £40 and worth every penny. Don't waste time with anyone else I have had mine done 10 times by ATS and Kwik Fit and they are useless. These guys even adjusted the rear by undoing the axle mounts and moving things about. My tyre wear is now normal. I cant recommend them enough.

Thanks guys, I know which tyres I do want.
I had my tracking done on my old Saxo with National T&A and it wasn't ideal.
But then again it was only 15 quid.

Will let you know how I get on. Planned on putting new tyres on the back anyway. Have my space-saver on the back at the moment, and the worn rear on the front.
Hate the idea of space saver on the car at all, let alone the front.

At least on the Panda, the spacesaver is only a couple of centimetres narrower as opposed to half the width of the normal tyres on some other cars. Take it handy!

I agree you need a full 4 wheel laser tracking. This costs about £40-45 but is worth every penny. If you can find someone with an American Hamilton machine so much the better. Any top place will print out a 'before' and 'after' sheet showing manufacturers tolerances, often in red (bad) and green (good and acceptable).
One really cannot describe the difference afterwards. A car will have the steering wheel spot on and central and track down the road like a bullet. A few millimetres to the left and the car goes left, turn it and then it goes right, but always from a strong central position. As you turn the steering wheel it is like driving on a pinnacle.
With new tyres it is a no brainer. Had my Mercedes done many years ago and 10 years later it was still good.
4 wheel laser with printouts or nothing else.
