Do I need to replace the back plates if I change to 126 hubs and brakes?

Atb Jon
Yes---the 500 did not have "brake-shoe retaining pins"---the 126 does. Also, there is a completely different style of rubber boot where the hand-brake lever sticks out of the rear back-plates. These boots are difficult to find, but FD Ricambi has them in stock.

Ok thanks, I was considering buying new back plates, I will clean up my old ones and re use them. Just got a shot blasting cabinet so I'll give them a blast and repaint.
I'm going to buy the up graded CV joints as everything is in bits now.
