Hi all
My fiat 500 has this fault code B0111-2F airbag light is on. I tried replacing side impact sensor in b pillar. Changed seatbelt and pretensioner aswell as I had them. Still the same anyone have any ideas what it could be I have hit a dead end on this one

My daughters 2012 Punto Evo had a airbag fault , sorry I can't remember the exact code, but it was due to a break in the passenger seat occupancy sensor.
I bought the car for her knowing about the fault as the previous owner had tried to repair it, unfortunately his repair bypassed the resistor in the circuit and destroyed the BCM (airbag computer) Fiat wanted £127 approx for the sensor and I never checked their price for the BCM.
In my case case I bought a cheap chinese occupancy sensor for £6 and soldered the original resistor into the circuit, I was lucky to find a new BCM on eBay, so put it all together and then had to use a Snap On diagnostic tool to run a "proxi alignment" program which basically tells the BCM what sensors are in the system so it can "talk " to them, I then deleted any leftover error codes and issue sorted, car in daily use.
The code reader you have, is it what a garage has told you or do you have access to MES or another good diagnostic tool capable of running "proxi alignment" program etc.as even if you locate and fix the fault a good diagnostic tool will still be needed to finish the job. :)

Hi I used a snap on scanner I tried changing the airbag ecu to a numbers matching one from another car still comes up airbag failure in the dash and light stays on. I did do a proxy alignment once I fitted the new ecu it worked and stopped flashing mileage.

Oh! I see, was it due to accident damage or something else.
Re testing the seat sensors etc. if unplugged and measured with an Ohm meter I got I think .400Ohms reading which if working changed to no resistance when sat on if that makes sense. I had to strip the base of the seat to fit it.
I don't think it is an easy option to fit a S/H BCM/airbag computer as it has all the other vehicle data on it. So unless it has been factory wiped like new by a specialist.
Is it possible something else in the airbag side is still faulty?
However I don't claim to be expert on that stuff.:)

Thanks for your reply.
No accident damaged came out on Sunday morning turned the key and airbag light on plus airbag failure on the screen that’s how my problems started

Ah good!
I would be tempted to use the original BCM and try to locate airbag fault, it can often be bad connections under seats for airbags in side of seats, or as I mentioned seat sensor.
On my daughters it came up with no stop/start, airbag light, flashing speedo mileage, yellow triangle, etc. Providing it is a break in connection it shouldn't damage the BCM as was my daughters case, as that was caused by a dodgy repair by previous owner.
However Fiats seem to be a bit picy about low battery voltages and earthing connections causing multple error codes.

Hi guys. sorry to jump in on your posts. My wife's 500 has the same error B0111-2f and airbag light on. Where abouts is the sensor in the B pillar. I read in a earlier post the mention of "proxy alignment" using mes. I've attached a screenshot of the scan.

Hi
The sensor is in behind the seat belt. You will need to get the correct colour sensor. Mine was blue I replaced it with a white one and it never worked. Got a blue one from the breakers and the fault cleared I plugged in to my snap on scanner. Hope this help you.

Thanks for info, did it need programming or straight swap?

Not being funny but after posting the fault and finding the solution it would help other Forum Members if you told us at the time and was this with the original BCM or the one you tried later, all knowledge useful .;)
Well I asked about this issue 7 days ago. And as I stated I tried a white sensor which never worked. It took me till yesterday to figure it the sensors are colour coded. How quick do you want me to post this bearing in mind the car’s interior is still in bits?

Well I am glad you have solved the problem, incidentally which BCM original or S/H as I understood they were not a straight swap.:)
