Its the pink one.

Is this the right stuff for removing minor swirl marks and general grime from the paint???

I was going to go for the mequirs full paint cleaning stuff, but for a punto its not really worth it

So is teh autoglym stuff I got any good:confused:

as it feels quite abrasive to me

Get some Clearkote VMG and Klasse AIO, both fab products.

For regular daily small scratches I just use the regular Auto Glym Resin Polish and elbow grease,

do the car twice within a week or so this gets rid of all the small scratches and then follow it up with the Extra Gloss it works a treat

Use lots of rags so you don't scratch the paint with any fine pieces of grit that might get onto them

I used Auto Glym Paint Renovator last year in Spring on the Sei. Made it look mint! I'll be doing it next Spring too. Make sure the car is absolutely spotless when you doit thouh because if you start rubbing dirt in, it will ruin your paint with swirls.

Autoglym (AG) Paint Renovator is pretty abbrasive based on my experience so unless it's really badly faded I'd stick to something like AG Super Resin Polish. For minor scratches AG Paint Renovator will be fine but as the instructions say don't use on the whole car unless absolutely necessary.

Ant1974 is right about not using dirty old rags as you'll end up scratching the car, new clean soft cotton cloth won't be bad but a microfibre like the £1.20 ones from Tesco are absolutely fine, no needs to spend silly money on Microfibre.

I've got the resin polish and super/extra gloss top coat (gold colour).

but on the bonnet and wings the light catchs the swirls quite badly.

I'll give it a whirl then.

oh, and I've been using microfibre cloths for over a year now. only wilko's 99pence ones, but same thing.
wash them after use and they are fine!!.

I used to use a roll of stockinette, but it doesn't 'pick up' a lot of the wax after use and leaves greasey smears.

Try Meguiars ScratchX in future :) . Work on very small areas, about 1' by 1', spread the polish around and then work it in with firm pressure in straight lines (easier to maintain pressure) until the residue goes clear. Takes many many passes, and a good few minutes per area. Wipe off residue, and make repeat applications as required... Its a tough old slog by hand, but the results can be well worth it.
