Hey guys I hae a grande punto tjet 2009 1.4.

I am planning to change Antifreeze / Thermostat and Hose pipe to engine block as I have a very slow leak after doing a pressure test on my car.

There seems to be 2 types of hose clamps on my car but I cannot see how these are removed and are they also one time use (see pic) 20190902_144346.jpeg20190902_144413.jpeg

You can hardly re-use them since they're will be almost destroyed when removed... When new, they slide to a certain point and then are crimped tight.

If someone here helped You fix -or better, understand- your issue, hit the thanks icon @ bottom right corner, it's free and makes us feel helpy ;-)

It is possible to remove and reuse them with the correct tools, but it's a lot easier to remove them via destructive means, and then replace with a worm drive (jubilee) clip.

I use a small blade screwdriver to open a bit the crimp, then a larger one to get the clamp loose until I can "un-hook" it. Tighten back with a "nail plier", but better use new jubilee clamp ...

Cheers, Bernie

Ok thanks for this. Do you know of any good places to get good quality worm jubileeclips?

The one on my fiances corsa D are great, seem to tighten forever, but i have used some whereyou tighten and then they sort of slip /break and the strength is gone. So i do worry about these clips as they are for the cooling system which would need to be a decent amount of tightness

Het bern.

thanks for input. Ok so help me out here as when i look at these my eyes go:bang::bang::bang::bang: lol. So is it best to tackle it from the back or the front,by front i mean the 'rolled up C' looking part of the clamp. Is it a matter of hooking off the 'C' looking part of the clamp or do you need to do something else?
