Annoying clunking noise

When I have the passenger side window closed fully, and I close the door..upon impact, the door makes a "clunk" noise instead of the traditional "thud".

However, when the window is open an inch or more, and the door is closed, there is no noise - just how it should sound!

Does anyone have any idea what the heck is causing this?

It has been on-going for months, and have had enough of it!

Have you tried it with the drivers window open instead of the passenger one? If that stops it then I would say you are creating a vacuum inside. A good thing really. You could also try it with the sunroof open either

The other windows being open/closed don't afffect it - the noise appears only when the window is closed or open just a little - more than an inch open and no noise.

It's almost like a vibrating noise..like the window is vibrating a little as the door is being closed :s

it will most likely be the window channel either broken mounting or loose bolt

You were pretty much right anon - was the absense of half the bolt, so the..mounting thing was moving when closed - popped it back into place (adhesive needed to keep it there though due to the bolt being shaved off) and no more noise ^ ^
