I decided to install a Android Head Unit from Ali Express which is a Ainavi for about £170, fitting looked straight forward, plug and play and there are quite a few youtube videos.
Easy to install and than the problems start....mileage odometer now flashing, research and found to be the vehices Canbus is not connecting with a componant, this would be the previous installed radio.
After may attempts in Headunit managed to find the correct can bus setting, all good and mileage no longer flashing.
Only problem now is air bag light comes on and goes off and a few minutes, agh.......

I have reserached the forums and some suggest that the original radio was connected to the airbag sensor, how I do not know or can imagine.

Any members had similar problems or have knowledge of airbag being connected to Fiat radio,

Thanks any help appreciated.

Hello,

Definitely the radio was not connected to the airbag sensor, nor the module.

However the airbag module is very sensitive to voltage fluctuations and prone to damage. However the light going on and off seems not to be the standard error.

Which year is your Ducato from?

Hi thanks for getting back, its a 2019 motorhome 2.3 and it was working fine before I installed the headunit. Air bag light comes on for a few minutes than goes off and than back on. I have not touched the airbag controller or seats so I have no idea, any help appreciated

Was the battery disconnected when you played with the radio? If yes, have you disconnected it properly (with cab doors closed, etc.?) If not, are you sure you have not shorted any wires?

I think that a diagnosis with MultiEcuScan would be required to see what's wrong. It's 2019, can have the Security Gateway installed. Check the multiecuscan.net website for details.

Hi thanks, the radio was very simple just connect a multi block from radio to existing radio, doors wer shut at the time, I cannot rule out a short, however I was only dealing with radio loom which was quite accesable.
Thanks again
