Technical Alternator causes sparking

Hi all,

I recently pulled the engine to replace my clutch, after reinstalling everything the battery shot off some extreme sparks. After disconnecting the alternator the battery was fine leading me to suspect something was wrong with the alternator. I took pictures of the wiring so everything is connected the same as before. Is there anything else i can check or do I need to accept that the alternator is faulty?

Are you absolutely sure you have the battery connections on the right way.

I am, the positive has some sort of quick disconect on it from the previous owner.
