For those of you who know Alan on here he's had a bit of a crap time and he's been talking about it in the Barchetta section were he's a Moderator.

He's not got a lot of time on his hands at the moment from one thing and another but if you'd like to nip over and just say 'Hi' it might be a bit of comfort to him at the moment.

Thanks Jim, Jon. Def seen better days last year it was wheather me and the wife were going to remain together, this year me and Jasper ain't well although learning that Jasper has a very aggressive cancer was a real hard blow, he's been my right hand man and best mate for many a year so we are doing everything possible no matter the expense to see him through, although it seems there is very little chance of survival. But as said before as long as the wee man is fighting we'll fight for him as long as we can.

I've also now got a date for the back surgery so something else to think about.

Anyway I'll try to be about when I can............

Thanks for all of your wishes.....

Jasper started to get some good results on the chemotherapy but collapsed twice yesterday through exaustion, the red blood cell count has all of a sudden got so low that his body is finding it difficult to circulate oxagen. He still isn't in any pain as such but there is a dramatic decrease in his quality of life so don't think we can let him go on for much longer. We have some new medication to try to help but think his visit to the Vets on Monday will be decider. It will break my heart to loose him but I couldn't see him in pain. I can't think of anything in the past that I have been more cut up about.

It's no easy decision mate.
We had to go through this as our son wanted to keep old Basil going. Basil was a rescued dog and had become part of the family. In the end it was the incontinence that made up our son's mind... suppose as parents we didn't want to be the ones to say the word. But it was inevitable...
here's Basil... and then along came Molly! ...here she is on a visit to Castle Shaw Roman Fort.
Good wishes mate!

He pretty much goes everywhere with me and most meets I have been to he has been allong with Jasmine my other dog....

He is pretty tired at the moment although he does often spark back into life but I don't want to leave it too late. Idon't think he will make it beyond the tests tomorrow.

He's lying at my feet at the mo in the back garden and the thought of what is to come is heartbreaking I am normally pretty hard emotionally but this is really awful and I don't think I will take it very well. He is without doubt my best mate.

I originally bought him for my wife and he was sitting on the front passenger seat of the car when I collected her after a hysterectomy (sp) operation, but over time he has been more my dog than hers as he has as said always gone with me when I go anywhere he even has his own passport.

Alan just sent me a text to say that Jasper passed away this morning....

Jim

:(

Really feel for you Alan. I had to make the same decision about our Jack Russell a couple of years ago. Take comfort in knowing that Jasper will now be pain free and free from suffering, plus was loved dearly. I'm sure Jasper will always be grateful to you for giving him such a good life as he chases cats to his hearts content in doggie heaven. :)

Sorry to hear about poor Jasper. At least he's not suffering any more.
