hi All
I took our MH out for a run last week and as I was going up a hill, I noticed the dash flashed a couple of lights and the guages went turned off. It then went back to normal. A mile down the road, the airbag came on and remained on. A couple of days later, my wife was driving and she nudged the ignition with her knees causing the engine to cut out briefly.
Does any one think that the ignition and airbag light problem are connected - not physically but drop in power and then restart? I've checked the wires under the swivel seats and they don't have any marks on them.
TIA

Hello,

As both events happened in a period of couple of days probably they are not related. I'd say that the airbag light getting lit was the effect of what happened to the dashboard. Sounds to me like a shortcut.

The fact that it happened driving up a hill makes me think of water. However it's just an idea and might be totally wrong.

The x250 was known to face problems following water ingress into the engine bay.

Conecting the Ducato to MultiEcuScan to see what errors are displayed might be a good idea to where to start with.

The airbag module is sensitive to voltage fluctuations.

Thanks for that. I've currently just bought MES and now getting head around it. I'll keep everyone posted. 👍

READING ERROR CODES:
1. U1602 - CAN line error
2. U1726 - Airbag Node (NAB)
3. B1008 - Rear or side direction indicators (right)
4. U1703 - Instrument Panel node
CLEARING STORED FAULT CODES

READING ERROR CODES:
1. P0401 - EGR valve 2. P0683 - Preheating control unit (feedback)
ERROR DETAILS: ERROR DETAILS:
Engine temperature 82.5 °C Engine temperature 3.4 °C
Engine speed 2277 rpm Engine speed 0 rpm
Fuel quantity 0.0 mm³/I Fuel quantity 0.0 mm³/i
Gas pedal position 2.75 % Gas pedal position 0.00 %
Fuel pressure 10660 psi Fuel pressure 0 psi
Boost pressure 13.05 psi Boost pressure 14.45 psi

After clearing the codes, they didn't come up again. I'm guessing that I need to have a look at the EGR valve to see if it's blocked up and check the glow plugs.

Does anyone know why on the P0683 Errror why it's showing a boost pressure of 14.45 psi when the engine isn't running?
