Hi everyone !

I'm thinking about changing the air filter, and putting a carbon air induction kit.
Question, I know the best is the CDA system, but I’m 19 years old, and the price of the kit is a bit too high for me

I went on ebay in England, and saw those:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARBON-FIB...3#ht_703wt_952

More interesting for me... but quality?
What would be the difference between that and a CDA kit ?
Is the spinning thing really useful?

What would a kit like this change exactly? More power? Sound difference?

Thanks !

Well, everyone hase the CDA kit, and thay all say it's good...
I have a small budget so...

Hi Natou,

Its been covered before, but have a look at the CDA link.
If your wanting to improove the performance of the vehicle then a air/box and filter with dimensions of 130mm is idealy suited to vehicles of 1600cc an under, fitting this kit will more than likely restrict air flow and lessen performance, so you would need a larger airbox to that one you have seen on ebay.

I,m in the development of making my induction and my airbox is the larger 150mm CDA that is reccomended for 1800cc engines and up.

You would be better of buying a high flow replacement filter such as a K&N if your limmited to funds or alternately i have my old GSR kit available in the classifieds.

Hope this helps...:)

Thanks for the answer !
So I need at least 150mm for a untuned barchetta motor ?
That's why the ebay one is not good, as it is only 130mm. Okay

I looked for you add for the GSR kit, but couldn't find it ...
what is exacly the difference between a CDA kit, and you GSR kit ?
Why are you changing ?

Please give me a link to your add, could be interested !

From bone stock......just changing the induction to BMC CDA, gains 5-7 hp on the dyno, and this has been tested.(it has to be fitted with ram-air system, otherwise its a waste of money)
I also have the CDA system like KC3, (150mm) and im happy with it, but if i had the money i would try a green induction just to see the difference.
In fact Green company has a new one now, the twister check it: http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pa...atbarchetta&manufacturer=green&sub_category=1

anyone has experience on that, or any suggestions?

Generally what do you think: enclosed induction system or not? i have heard that the green-gsr type are better in low rpm as well is that true?

p.s. My dyno results: 144hp with 17kg torque, bachetta 2003 mods: bmc cda ram-air, Ypipe with no procats, cat-back exhaust with 200cell cat, denso iridium spark plugs.

Hi Natou,

Here's the link, Have a fair few mods for sale for those interested.

Only my GSR kit was personally designed for a Mk1 Barchetta, although it could be modified to fit a Mk2.

You would need to add aditional silicone hose bends to alter the shape like in the other engine pic shown and put a straight inline join inplace of the Airmaf senser which Mk1 B's have and Mk2's dont.

May sound complicated but in reality its not.. (y)

I,ll explain the difference in filters.

A GSR induction is a personaly designed and tested silicone hose adapted to fit the Barchetta, if you look at my pics you can see the hose has different diameters in different parts of the hose. One side is specifically made to fit the throttle body and the other is larger to fit a filter of Maf senser.

Its design coupled with a good quality high flow air filter allow max air to reach the engine so in effect increases BHP. In tests with a remap it can produce 12bhp more as it did with mine.

A CDA filter is a high flow filter but is enclosed in a carbon housing, they do this so as to block out any heat that may be generated in the engine bay.

The cooler the air entering the engine helps with a better explosion of air/fuel mixture so in effect increases power. The way and amount of air entering the filter will alternately effect the way it works. Hence wanting to create a ram effect in my design.

You could use both a CDA filter housing with GSR induction hose in the same engine.

In all it also depends on your engines tuning but a correctly fitted after market induction should improove engine performance by a few BHP..

Hope this helps..(y)
