Any idea how to get all the air out of a punto mk2 cooling system. I fitted a new radiator & have tried all ways to bleed it but there still seems to be air present as when i start the car , there is a gurgling noise coming from the heater behind the dashboard , any ideas ?????

If you search for "gurgling" in this section, you'll find literally hundreds of posts, and dozens of threads. Easiest way seems to be raising the front of the car -- either on a slope, ramps, jacks, whatever -- opening both bleed screws (one next to the radiator; the other next to the bulkhead); overfilling (possibly with a upturned 2l coke bottle full of mixed coolant); and then squeezing all the pipes until coolant comes from both bleed screws.

Just make sure you don't overfill the system, though -- if necessary, using the bottom radiator hose to let a little out.

There are many different methods to choose from -- but this is what works for me. It is an absolute PITA, though -- and requires a large vocabulary of swear-words, as well as patience. The first time I did it, it took many attempts, over many days. I can now do it just about first time: so I empathize, and wish you much luck.... (y)

As I say, have a search, and see what other suggestions come up. I did think there was a Guide, but I can't find it.....

If none of this works, let us know; and someone else will be along with their brand of bleeding magic (IYSWIM)! ;)

Cheers for the tips , I'll give it a go when I get home next weekend as i work away all week ( HGV driver) and the weathers just turned a bit s##t here so I've given up for the day. ???
