My girlfriend has a 500 pop model 2009

It doesn't have the front headlights, which up until last week didn't bother her.

When driving in Cornwall last weekend we were hit by very bad fog, and I thought if it would be possible to add some in.

Does the car have the provisions for the lights in the loom? For the switch and the lights themselves? If this is the case I see it being quite a simple addition, but if not, how much work is involved to add them?

Thanks

I think I started a thread off a few months ago on this very subject, and from memory it was a resounding no. There wouldn't be the wiring behind the blanks on the bumper going to the switch, or rather lack of switch. In theory, I suppose if you ran a complete fog light loom from lights to dash into a switch which you could pick up from an online breakers you could, but I think it would be a pain in the wotsit.

That's a shame, to be honest if it's a big job, then I can live without them, I don't want to cause more problems by cutting and adding wiring into the loom

You may be able to wire them as follows:
Find the wire in the rear lamp cluster that powers the rear foglamp. Splice a wire onto this and route it to energise the coil of a relay. Take another wire from the positive battery terminal to the relay contact, and wire the other side of the contact to the front foglights. The battery wire must be protected with an in line 15A fuse.
This way, when the rear foglight is switched on, the fronts will also come on.
I don't know if this contravenes car lighting regulations.
If you are going to do it, but don't know about wire current ratings etc. use a qualified auto electrician.

It does they have to be on separate switches and have separate indicators on the dash to tell you they are switched on.

To get the dash indicators to work as would be required by lighting regs you'd need to wire the fog lights through the body computer as this takes the input from the dash soft touch buttons and turns on the lights and dash light.

Generally these days you won't have the wiring, though my 2004 punto did have I don't think many newer cars would.
