Technical Accidentally fixed remote central locking

After handing over my keys at a dodgy airport parking, the remote central locking of my 1999 1.2 elx wasn't working anymore. The led on the remote would light up, but nothing happened.
The other day I was playing around with it, and I got it to work again by pulling up the driver side door handle and at the same time pressing the button on the remote.

Is this a feature to enable/disable remote central locking?

If you do it again, does it disable it again?

I considered that experiment, but I'm worried about getting it to work again if that disables it

The usual way to reset remote locking on most cars is to place a key in the ignition then use a second key to lock and reopen one of the exterior doors

All key programming has to be done via diagnoatic software

Imboliser and central locking release

Unless you have the meta cebtral locking or aftermarket which has its own programming ways
