After driving for a few days with “auto” on my aircon is blowing hot ? even when it’s set to ? I have been googling ect but can’t seem to find the info I need .... it was working fine nice n cool when needed does it need the re cooling stuff? How can I check ect I can see the inlet under bonnet but no idea how to check ?

If it’s set to auto, I’m assuming it’s the electric panel. The hot cold electric flap valves are known to break, if you set it to cold it should be cold even if the aircon has lost its charge. If it’s putting heated air into the car I’d think the valve was kaput.

Oh dear,,, let's hope it's this, it may need re gassing with the engine running ac on fan on does the compressor click on and off along with the engine cooling fans?

Oh god I’ve no idea ? am I to listen for a click? I’ve only had the car just over a month and I do have a warranty though the dealership is small

Oh dear, you don't seem to be having much luck with this car.

If it is the well-known and unfortunately all too common flap actuator fault, then if you want to repair it properly, the parts cost over £1000 (you can only buy the heater box complete from FIAT and sourcing one secondhand is a huge risk, given how fragile they are) and the labour to fit will likely be the same again, since most of the interior forward of the seats has to come out, including the steering column and both doors.

There are workarounds, but if done incorrectly can make things worse, and if the workaround fails, you don't get a second chance.

If the garage you bought it from will cover this under warranty, then personally that's the route I'd be taking.

The flap actuator is a huge weakness in Fiats with climate control and for me, having climate on a Fiat would be a dealbreaker.

IMG_2255.JPG on another note...... the auto on climate control manages the start stop ?[emoji53]eh whaaat!?

While Hampshire a long way, route involves M1 and A34 which by motorway standards may be relatively quiet. And you may only burn £60 or so in fuel there and back. Include the repair and for me worth the trip. Also the air con refrigerant not expensive though may become so in the future if you believe what you read. Let us know how it goes. :)

All that means is that when the AC is initially working hard to get the interior temp down the S/S is temporarily deactivated. You will notice that if the engine is stopped and you turn on the AC the engine will immediately restart.
