Technical 5 Speed starter motor

I am trying to fit a 1500cc motor and 5 speed gearbox to my 128 coupe. The gearbox is marked 138AE.2A.1 079674 M.
I was told that the engine and gearbox came from a Ritmo but I don't know that for sure.
The units didn't come with a starter motor.
I purchased a 1500 5 speed ring gear and starter motor as recommended in posts.
The problem I have is that the new ring gear does not fit into the bellhousing, it is too big. The 4 speed ring is a tight fit.
The 1500 starter motor does fit but doesn't engage with the ring gear.
Is there a starter motor similar to the one I purchased but with a bigger drive gear?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Howea

I recently fitted a new WOSP gear reduction starter motor - to my 1500 5 speed -obtained from Midwest Bayless Italian Auto, Gahanna, Ohio that was a perfect fit.

It was manufactured in UK but they seem to deal with `trade only`....
