I have a 2020 Fiat 500C, one of the last twin turbo cars produced, Last month, the 7 inch display head units power supply to the USB socket became intermitted, going on and off, like a belisha beacon. This means I cant change my phone, or use the Apple car play function. Having taken the car to a Fiat Dealership, they have concluded it is a software issue in the headhunt, but without the consistent power connection tot the USB socket, they can update the head unit software to try and resolve the problem.
So, it looks like a new head unit. Having looked on YouTube, it seams easy enough to swap one over, and on Ebay, there are a couple of units produced in July 2023, which will also have the latest software on them, in comparison to men which was made in 2019.
My question is, if I use a second hand unit from a UK donor Fiat car, will I need to use the radio code that came with my car, or the one that came from the donor car on the replacement unit?
If I buy the one I have seen on eBay, it will be a continental head unit, part number 07357886380, Fiat 312E 7 inch VP2 ECE DAB GPS, serial number A3C105988040000044265. I have seen a moderator say they can supply a radio code for a site donation, but they can only help with certain headhunts.
I hope someone might be able to advise.
Thanks
Andy
