My wife has a 2016 Fiat 500x Trekking that she is starting to have a bunch of issues with it. When she starts to drive, the car loses power and puts a message on the cluster that reads “put car in park and press gas to start” even though the car was already on.

Other issues associated with car: radio is turning off and on inconsistently. Drive modes unavailable, car randomly dies. Have to disconnect battery and wait a bit before reconnecting anytime she drives the car.

Are any of these symptoms signs of Common underlying issues? It seems to happen more often when it’s wet outside. Car has about 100k miles on it. Battery changed about a month ago.

Hi, 🙂

battery changed in hope of a cure?

The big Black Earth Cable from battery to body to motor, worth getting that replaced

It's not uncommon for moisture to get inside and upset the flow of power (might coincide with your rainy day problems?)

similar problem, thought much less regular. Happened twice in last 8 months, both times after it rained. First time it was in our driveway and I waited a while and it started. This time, it started but shut down while daughter was driving to school. I've been told it's a problem with one of the hundreds of sensors that attach the the radio hub, but since it self corrected by the time it got to the dealer, they couldn't find an existing fault so didn't know which sensor might have the fault. Could it be the battery?

It's the CAM Bus that has faults along it. Radio Hub is just one of the inputs showing an error.
