My Fiat started acting up, wouldn't shift gears properly and the Electronic Throttle Control light went off when starting it. Took it to my local shop who said take it to the dealership.
Dealership got back to me saying it's gonna need a new reluctor wheel on the crankshaft and a new timing belt, as well as some other minor recommended maintenance that I can get done elsewhere for cheaper. The major repairs are gonna cost me just under $4,000 before tax and labor. My Fiat is just under 97,000 miles and is 10 years old.
Is getting the maintenance worth it in the long run or am I better off looking for a new car? This is my first car and the only major maintenance it has needed outside of anything accident related.
