Hi all I'm having trouble starting my stilo, I had a diagnostic test and no error codes coming up what's so ever. It sounded like no fuel . So I disconnected hoses from filter and turned her over no diesel !!!!! What can this be please any recommendations would be truly helpful :bang:

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

Hmmm.... not sure what no fuel sounds like. ;)

The fuel pump is electric, so you don't need to turn the engine over for it to operate. The pump is fitted in the top of the fuel tank under the rear seats. When you switch the ignition on, it should operate for a few seconds. Listen near the pump while someone switches the ignition on and you should hear it if it's working.

If it's not working, check fuse F21 and relay T10, both located in the engine compartment fuse box.

Also check the inertia safety cut out switch located behind the passenger side kick panel. There's a small hole in the panel you can put a finger through. On top of the switch there's a rubber covered button. Press down on the button. It should click if the switch has been tripped. Diagram of the switch below is for a left hand drive car. For a RHD car it will be on the opposite side.

Thank you very much for this information . I pulled out the relay and fitted another from the same board , turned over the engine and it started straight away. :)
Just need to replace relay now.
Also the engine management light has now come on could this be because it has a relay missing?

Which relay did you use? Perhaps the EML has come on because that one is now missing. Relay T3 is for the horn, so that one doesn't trigger the EML.

If the fault has been fixed, the EML should go out after 3 clear start/run cycles of the engine.
.

T6 is for the engine cooling fan low speed, so it may have triggered the EML. T6 is also a different current rating than T10 or T3. Red ones are 30 Amp, black ones are 20 Amp.

Put T6 back and try it with T3.

I did notice the relay rating. To be honest I just wanted to try it. Unfortunately I was to late for my local fiat dealer. But the cars off the road until I can replace this .
Then hopefully it will reset as you say . Thank you for all your help I'll keep you posted :)
