I brought second hand gearbox if yours is same as mine I've got 1.9 2008 punto I found you don't have to remove the drive shafts only wheel and gearbox mount so you can lower for space to remove the gear housing, you can take the casing off the bell housing to expose the gears and change just the broken ones I did it my gearbox runs faultlessly now hope that helps as the gearbox is pretty heavy and bloody awkward to get back on by yourself.
