hello to all you fiat fanatics, here in Nova Scotia there hasn't been a fiat dealership around since the 70's and even then they were pretty rare site. you could imagine my surpise to find a 1966 850 convertable, it's not in great shape, but it's certenly fixable, but the strange part was that it was fiberglass, the hood, trunk, tub{body}. everything but the doors. the dash was all aluminum with
a emblem {torino} the 850 logo was no where to be seen.
i've looked threw as many fiat sites as i can find but there is no mention of a "torino" package also from what i found in websites all the 850 were metal not fiberglass, if you have any info on the subject please email me

I'd be wary of it to be honest - it could be a re-build kit based on the Fiat 850 Mechanics...

Not that I'd know for sure but Fiberglass in the 70's???
Was it invented back then?!

lol yes, lots of cars and bits made of fibreglass in 70's. Latest thing to combat the dreaded tin worm and reduce weight. The carbon fibre of the 70's.

does sound like a kit car though.

Dave. :)

So much to do, so little time.... and Totally Skint!! :(

I'm positive it's not a replica for one, the registration paper's state a 66 fiat torino, not to mention they would have had to gut a perfetly good 850 spyder to do it, it's too original, the dash and interer are identical to the aluminum dash of the racing edition, the fiber glass dispite being aged and the seems starting to split, fit's to nice to be an aftermarket addition or a kit-car, it is what it is,
a fiberglass 850, perhaps the torino was a limited canadian edition of the 850[with ocean on 3 sides and salt poured on the road every winter] a fiberglass car was a logical desicion, there's certainly a shortage of old 60's car's in this part of the world,
