Pardon me, if this is obvious to someone. But my interest in cars have recently spiked with an acquirement of an Mk1 Val D'isere from 88.
Now i'm looking to beef up the tires a bit, but after watching James May eat through his filler pipe i'm a little worried about fitment.
So i have the original steel wheels that are 4" and then i've bought a pair of Borbet alloys that are 5,5" ET30. Both 13R.
The Borbet's are fitted with some off-road tires. They claim 145/80 R13, but i'm meassuring them out be a lot beefier than that. They meassure 59cm in diameter, with makes them more of a 145/90. And they rub! At least the back left rubs slighty.
Now i'm looking to put on a pair of 165/70 R13. Question is, which rims should they go on, and would they fit both? And would the new alloys need a spacer?
I'm a little confused about all these numbers, so any input on how to do this right would be much appreciated!
