I've learned in this forum that is pretty normal having gunk inside the manifold.

for example here
https://www.fiatforum.com/punto-ii/232661-1-2-16v-intake-manifold-oil-residue.html

My car has 200000 km and the status of the manifold is visible in the attached photo.

What do you think, is better take apart the whole manifold and clean it (I have dismantled only the section with the EGR inlet), or is a work that can be postponed?
Can be responsible for the black smoke when I push down the gas pedal?

Hi mate,

Your inlet manifold isn't the worst I've seen, Infact it's not too bad at all, but it would certainly benefit from a good clean up!

Best way is to remove the inlet manifold, remove all the ancillaries such as MAP etc and then sit it in a bath of degreaser. Leave it over night if possible to soften up the carbon deposits. Then give it a good glean with a brush (the type you use for cleaning alloy wheels etc that can be bent/ shaped are good for this)

It's unlikely to be the cause of your black smoke though, so I wouldn't put it too high up on your "to do" list.

Alan
