Help 1.9 straight diesel poor mpg
engine warning light comes on and goes off sometimes

do you think i need to get it plugged in?
Anyone with fiat software and cable aroung nottingham area

Hi,

I too have a 1.9 straight diesel but would be interested to know what your poor MPG is.

I get about 30-35 mpg at very best, which I think is poor but not necessarily a problem?

I get nearly 500 miles to a full tank, from memory, been ages since I could afford to fill it haha.

IIRC the 'book' puts the 1.9EL at 34 mpg

Do you know what sort of mileage you have left when the fuel light comes on for a 1.9el?

I had a previous problem with my scudo which was the electronic timing solenoid which was hampering fuel economy. With this problem, if I was lucky enough not to run out of diesel before the light came on, I had 5 miles at best.

I ran out of fuel on quite a few occasions.

Now that the problem has been fixed, I'm still sh_t scared to let the fuel get close to the light coming on.

I've never had the ocassion to allow the fuel low warning light to come on - what's the point? Fill 'er up when it gets to 1/4 full and no more worries.

It doesn't cost you any MORE....

Most garages will carry out a diagnostic for around £50.00 ish
