Last Friday my stilo's engine blew the dealer say's it's crank casing is cracked and various other parts are damaged?. Fiat have advised the dealer to repair the engine but the dealer wants to fit a new engine. Have to wait and see what Fiat say when they come to look at it tomorrow. Anybody else have the same problem?
 
tbh i'd rather have a new engine than a repair god knows what damage was done to the current one when it blew....

If they want to repair, they'd possibly try to fit what's known as a 'short engine' - namely a new sump, block, crank, pistons and rods with your old cylinder head, cams and valves.
