Hi,

anyone tell me how to release the Aux belt tensioner? I can not get eneough slack to fit new belt. Also as the old belt broke I can not work out for sure how the belt is routed around the pullys??

Cheers Lee

This diagram is for scudo 96/07 2.0 jtd with power steering, the pully marked with the x is the tensioner, put a spanner on this pully and simply pull back against the tension, place belt in place and release.

Many thanks... that helped but.... I have another problem now, bottom pulley is shagged, can change that no problem but have the woodruff key is sheared so need to get timing pulley off... will start another thread on this..

Cheers lee

Thanks for that pointer, BD.

Mine is the 1.9 non turbo. The top idler was the tensioner on mine. Using a socket on a breaker bar allowed me to push it back and fit the belt.
