Hi

This is probably a really stupid question but there was a knocking on one rear wheel on my mk2.

I had a look and its the rubber bit that fits at the bottom inside the spring.

Whats this part called and should it be loose.

Mine seemed to have poped out and i have put it back in but it wasn't held in by anything

so should it be connected by anything, they are both loose.

It had a track rod end replaced and the tracking done and it passed its MOT on Saturday and the knocking only started after then.
 
it's a case of taking the load off the rear suspension, supporting it with stands, then undoing 2 shock bolts and letting down the axle and the spring should fall out or need a bit of moving to get it out, then i think the bump stops twist out, not entirely sure but shouldnt b too hard to work out :)
